social Development
We are in more than 200 Brazilian municipalities, where 3.3 million people are living in poverty. We understand that it is our role to contribute to a fairer, less unequal world with opportunities for all people.
We know that we will not be able to transform this reality alone, which is why we work in partnership with companies, civil society organizations, associations and cooperatives, public authorities, among others. In addition, we have long-term goals, our Commitments to Renew Life, focusing on reducing poverty and boosting education. Learn more on the Commitments page.

Our strategy
To stimulate social development, we work on three pillars:
Maintaining a transparent and respectful relationship with all the audiences present in the places where we operate is fundamental. For this reason, we implement structured processes of qualified and continuous dialogue, focusing on generating value for all parties involved, always respecting local culture and knowledge, such as those of indigenous peoples and traditional communities.

Poverty and education are directly connected. After all, those who have fewer educational opportunities also tend to have a lower income. Therefore, creating the necessary conditions for these people to study is part of our social development strategy.
We do this through the ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Education Program, which impacts the lives of public school students by training educators, promoting educational policies, and acting in different spheres related to education, such as health and social assistance.

Poverty reduction
We invest in social programs and projects that have a direct impact on poverty—specifically multidimensional poverty, which affects the income, health and education dimensions.
Through partnerships, we invest in high-impact income generation projects aligned with regional characteristics across six areas:
- Sustainable harvesting
- Inclusive recycling
- Entrepreneurship
- Supply networks
- Access to employment
- ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏ꿉۪s value chain
